Photo by A. Jefferson<\/p><\/div>\n<p>The river is a few feet higher than normal along here, as a temporary dam has been put in to facilitate construction of a new bridge just downstream. If you look closely you can see a crane peeking through the trees. The high water levels have submerged the floodplain and some big trees. I hope they survive the drenching.
