To their credit, this year AGU has also provided us with <a href=\"http:\/\/sites.agu.org\/fallmeeting\/scientific-program\/sessions-on-demand\/\">video of the keynote lectures and some sessions<\/a> (one of which <a href=\"http:\/\/vimeo.com\/33330307\">features my co-blogger<\/a> about 40-45 minutes in), and gave people the option of putting their <a href=\"http:\/\/eposters.agu.org\/eposter-search\/\">posters into an online repository<\/a> (at least 2000 were uploaded, and <a href=\"http:\/\/eposters.agu.org\/abstracts\/kinematics-of-mid-ocean-ridge-relative-motions-in-the-indo-atlantic-frame-of-reference-passive-and-active-spreading-ridges\/\">mine is one of them<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>One thing that stands out when looking at the blogging activity listed above is the precipitous decline in posting as the week progressed:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/all-geo.org\/highlyallochthonous\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/12\/AGUposts.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/all-geo.org\/highlyallochthonous\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/12\/AGUposts.png\" alt=\"\" title=\"AGUposts\" width=\"548\" height=\"407\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-7037\" srcset=\"https:\/\/all-geo.org\/highlyallochthonous\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/12\/AGUposts.png 548w, https:\/\/all-geo.org\/highlyallochthonous\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/12\/AGUposts-300x222.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 548px) 100vw, 548px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>This is hardly a surprise; a five day conference featuring 20,000 of your scientific peers is pretty overwhelming on the first day, let alone on day 5. There&#8217;s too much cool science to see, too many people to catch up with, too little time to write about it all and still get any sleep. Even the <a href=\"https:\/\/all-geo.org\/highlyallochthonous\/tag\/contrived-interviews\/\">light-hearted blog chats between Anne and I<\/a> were almost too much. Maybe audio would be a better option?
