Brian recently showcased<\/a> a cool image from Nasa’s Terra satellite<\/a>, and here’s a couple more, courtesy of Nasa’s Earth Observatory<\/a>. These false colour images are before and after shots of the area that has come to be occupied by the Lusi mud volcano<\/a>, with the ‘after’ shot taken at the beginning of November, just after the AAPG debate<\/a> that concluded that it was most likely triggered by nearby drilling.

Compensation of the people displaced by the rising mud remains an issue, with talk of payments being delayed<\/a> due to the global financial crisis (which seems to have started affecting certain exploration companies much earlier than the rest of the world economy), although the latest reports<\/a> seem to suggest some sort of deal to get the money flowing to those who need it. Let’s hope so.
