The drillers apparently &#8211; and unexpectedly &#8211; hit soft, unconsolidated sediment and <a href=http:\/\/news.google.co.uk\/news\/url?sa=t&#038;ct=uk\/0-0&#038;fp=48740e898808d260&#038;ei=Q9d0SK7uOZWMwwHI4bDDDA&#038;url=http%3A\/\/www.iol.co.za\/index.php%3Fset_id%3D1%26click_id%3D124%26art_id%3Dvn20080709111748343C544196&#038;cid=1226461232&#038;usg=AFQjCNGqUZuve9lhgeoSpYtjvi4ubgTAxA>closed off the road<\/a> before part of it disappeared, so fortunately nobody was injured. The water in the hole is from a burst main. Has someone not been doing their ground surveys properly, I wonder?
